Years ago when Phil Peterson and Mike Horne partnered up on a Harley
Davidson venture they also got the Poker Run started. All of the
promotion from the mainland sent hordes riding to Key West and someone
needed to keep it organized at the south end. Mike Horne's involvement
with the local Rotary Club helped things along and today the Sunrise
Rotary Club not only generates money for the local economy and
scholarships from the Peterson Poker Run, but also organizes events for
a Key West Bike Week and Southernmost Motorcycle Rally which use the Key
West Poker Run as an Anchor event and traffic builder. This joint
venture allows for huge success all around. Look for the event staff and
thank them for their participation.
